The RD1400 series is a microprocessor-based control system for steam boilers. It consists of a microprocessor panel, indoor sensors (maximum of 4 sensors per control), one outdoor sensor, and a setback timer. It takes the average temperature of all active indoor sensors and compares it to the current temperature setpoint to determine boiler action.
The RD1400 series includes added features that will maximize fuel conservation without shortchanging heat distribution. One can set an RD1400 control to remove either the coldest or warmest sensor reading to compensate or minimize the effect of open windows, wind direction change, and occupant activity. Another excellent feature, the Weather Anticipation (Outdoor Reset) function, can be used to gradually increase building temperature in response to decreasing outdoor temperature.
